A Vision · Nicole

The Next Chapter

What I want · what needs to be true · what I want to start feeling now

My full energy on work that matters, feeling it actually land, supported and well paid for it, and still having a life. And starting to feel that now, not in a year.

Where I am starting from

The honest ground, before the vision.

For the last six years or so, I have worked with one eye on the family and one eye on the job. That was the right call and I have no regrets. But it has meant I have rarely gone at anything at full throttle, and I have carried a lot of the energy on my own, without a clear mandate or much of a safety net.

It has been tiring. The next chapter can be different, and I know I can make it different.

The shift

The movement I am naming, in one picture.

From, today
  • Carrying the energy on my own
  • Fighting to prove it is real
  • One eye always on everything else
  • Lurching from one milestone to the next
  • Running at partial throttle
Toward, where I am going
  • A real mandate, and support around me
  • Proof it is landing, in reality
  • Full energy on the work that matters
  • Outcomes I can actually see
  • A pace I can live with
What I want

Five things, said plainly.

01

A clear mandate, and visible results

The authority to actually make change, and to see my effort turn into real outcomes rather than just hoping. Proof that it is real, not another round of waiting.

02

The right people around me

A network of people who are energised, capable, and driven by integrity and a genuine care for the future of our kids and the planet. People who bring energy, not only take it.

03

To be paid properly for the impact I make

Enough that Nick and I can finally reach the personal goals we have worked so hard for, and support the girls in a way that feels honest and grounded.

04

A life outside the work

Real balance. Friends to have fun with. Time for the things I love: music, creativity, nature, movement, exercise, good food, and rest.

05

Work that lasts

To look back and know I built something real, that I felt joy and passion along the way, and that what I created keeps mattering.

What needs to be true

The filter I can hold any opportunity against.

A note from Scarlet

I listened to everything you shared and the first thing I want to say is that none of what you want is too much or unclear because you are lost. It is unclear because so much of it is still living as a feeling. Feelings are real, but they are hard to walk toward, because a feeling does not tell you where to put your feet or show you what is 'progress' when it arrives.

In feeling you are not sure, that you are waiting for it to become clear, waiting for something to lift you or drop in, you are waiting, and waiting is painful, especially for people like us! We are built to move, to take aim at something and go. When we leave the future to chance it doesn't feel peaceful, it feels disempowering, because underneath it you know you are the one meant to be steering.

You are not actually unclear. You just have not made it specific yet. And your mind loves specific. It loves something it can measure. So let us give it something to measure.

The shift is small, and it changes everything: moving from "I hope this happens" to "here is exactly what it looks like when it is real, and here is the proof I will see." When you name the actual moments, you start to recognise them when they arrive. And more than that, you start to make them arrive. The proof stops being something you wait for and becomes something you can point at.

So I have written you some questions, underneath each of your five intention areas. It might feel like 'work' (how ironic haha), but they are here to help you get sure. Answer them like you are describing a day you are already living. The more specific you let yourself be, the more real it becomes, and the more your hope has somewhere solid to stand.

You are so close. Let us make it something you can see and identify, so that taking any step forward feels like it's walking in the direction of the life you've named, the best life it could be!

The universe doesn't care how big and 'far from your current reality' it is. They have paths and solutions we don't even know exist beyond our current conditionings to believe only in what we have experienced until now. In fact the bigger and 'how on earth' it is, the more open you have to be in letting them prove the point that they only need the end goal. The only work for us is in the walking forward, and of course our favourite: trust!

You are closer than you realise... it's about to get very real!

Getting clear · what it looks like when it is real

Where it stops being a feeling, and starts being real.

None of this makes the dream smaller. It gives it edges you can recognise when it arrives, and start to cause. So do not answer like a form. Answer like you are describing a day you are already living: the real moments, the ones you would actually see and feel. That is the proof, and that is where the magic stops being a wish and becomes something you can point at.

01

A clear mandate, and visible results

The change you are here to make, and the first real signs of it.

  1. In one plain sentence, what is the change you are here to make? Say it the way you would to someone who has never met you.
  2. What is the actual problem you are here to solve, and who feels the difference when you solve it?
  3. If the mandate were fully yours tomorrow, what is the first thing you would decide or do that you cannot today?
  4. Picture the first sign it is landing. What is the actual moment, the email, the yes, the result, that you could point to and say: there, it is working?
02

The right people around me

The people who energise you. Start by naming whether your personal and professional circles are one or two.

  1. First, the honest one: are your personal people and your professional people the same circle, or two different ones? Do you want them to be? Answer what follows for each circle that matters.
  2. Picture being with them. Who are they, what are they like, and how do you feel in the room?
  3. What do they bring that is missing around you now: energy, challenge, safety, honesty, belief?
  4. What does a fair exchange look like with them? In your personal life it might be care that flows both ways. At work it might be effort that is matched, or pay that reflects what you give.
  5. Name one real moment with one of them that would tell you: these are my people.
03

To be paid properly for the impact I make

The real number, and how you would know the exchange is fair.

  1. What does being paid properly actually look like, as a real figure? Name it, for a year and for a piece of work.
  2. When someone asks what you do, what is the result you point to first, the one that shows on paper?
  3. Name one specific thing you would do, fund, or buy with that money that you cannot right now.
  4. What is the number that would let you and Nick stop worrying and start choosing?
04

A life outside the work

The experiences you actually want. When they happen because you chose them, that is proof you are steering.

  1. Name three things you want to experience this year that have nothing to do with work. Be specific: the trip, the gig, the class, the slow morning.
  2. Which one could you book or begin this month? When it happens because you chose it, that is direct proof of your own influence.
  3. What does a great week look like when there is real room in it? Walk me through a day of it: who is there, what are you doing, how does it feel?
  4. Which one will you make happen first, and by when?
05

Work that lasts

The legacy, said plainly, and the words people use about you.

  1. What is the body of work you want to leave behind? Name it plainly, not as a feeling.
  2. What is the mission underneath the legacy: the specific thing you want to have shifted?
  3. When you are gone, what do you want people to say you did? Say it in their words.
  4. Who, specifically, is different because you were here, and how?
  5. What is one thing you could start building this year that would still be standing in twenty?
What I want to feel now

I do not want to wait a year to feel the shift. I want to start feeling it now: lighter, supported, and free to do the work I know I am here to do, without another fight to prove myself. I know what I am capable of. The next step is putting my energy where it turns into the life and the impact I want.
